Seek AbsoLUCIAN at Marigot Bay Resort
Perhaps the biggest dilemma facing guests of Marigot Bay Resort is how to indulge in our delicious cuisine but not gain those much-feared vacation pounds. Of course, there are lashings of healthy options on the menus of our four restaurants, but we also know the way to a hungry guest's heart is through a yummy taste of the island.
Experts recommend practical steps to combat any such excess poundage, like staying hydrated and watching what you eat - both sound tips, but we prefer to offer a unique way to balance the scrumptious temptations created by our resort chefs by seeking AbSoLucian!
Created by Jay, Marigot Bay Resort's guru of all things fitness, AbSoLucian is a complimentary programme with classes three days a week, featuring yoga and meditation at the pavilion, pilates and cardio in the gym, power-walking and hill-climbing around Marigot Bay with Lucian-style Zumba thrown in for good measure. Most of the classes take advantage of the resort's gorgeous surroundings which makes even the onerous routines a sensory pleasure.
The soundtrack to all this physical activity ranges from blissful birdsong around the peaceful garden to the latest island soca rhythms, like Saint Lucia’s popular ‘Dennery Segment’ which is Jay’s favourite for getting heart rates and muscles pumping. At 160 beats per minute, you can be sure that calorie-burning will be frenetic and fun.
At Marigot Bay Resort's wellness and fitness suite, we also have a range of gym equipment and other facilities that are available during your stay, including private consultation and personal training sessions with Jay himself. Whether you're a seasoned daily exerciser or want to try out a few new techniques, there's something for every fitness level, leaving no excuses to sit still unless it's by the pool.
And if during your luxury vacation all those scrumptious desserts and ambrosial cocktails lead to a few more inches, who cares?
